Exposure to Martial Arts
YEAR ACHIEVEMENTS
Boyhood Since I belong to warrior family and my father was a great Silamba Asan, I learnt "Silambam" and "Kalaripayattu" (Indian Martial Arts) from my Boyhood.
1974 Started to learn Korean Martial Art by name ‘TAE-KWON-DO’.
1980 Joined with GAMINI SOYSA to learn ‘SHORIN-RYU SHORINKAN’ -Traditional Okinawa / Japan Martial Art.
1981 Started Varmakkalai
1982 Acquired I Dan Blackbelt in Karate at Srilanka
1984 Took advance training in Karate & Kobudo(Weaponary) under Sensei Rod Lipka and received the II Dan Blackbelt certificate from Head Quarters
1985 - 86 Developed Varmakkalai ( Nervous technique)
1987 Received an Invitation from Srilanka for being a Referee for
Karate Tournament and acquired III Dan Blackbelt certificate from World H.Q. by the Recommendation of Sensei Gamini Soysa.
1991 By the recommendation of Sensei Gamini Soysa Acquired IV Dan Blackbelt Certificate from Okinawa/Japan after the training in Srilanka.
1993 Took Part in the International Tournament as the participant and acquired VI place, Lasvegas USA.
1994 Acquired V Dan Blackbelt in the International Camp conducted by Hanshi Shugoro Nakazato Organized by Kyoshi Pat Haley held in California State University, Chico, USA.
1995
  1. Invited by the Traditional Shotokan Confederation to take Part as the International referee by passing the examination In the international tournament.
  2. Awarded Doctorate in ‘Traditional Karate’ by the Argentina University, USA.
1996 Took part as Referee in the International tournament held at Las Vegas-USA.
1997
  1. Participated as a referee in the Okinawa Karate Kobudo World Tournament held in Okinawa/Japan. Attended the Seminars and took training under World Leader grand master S.Nakazato.
  2. Joined in Lionism.
1998
  1. Again took part in the Lasvegas international tournament along with Indian team.
  2. Awarded Mother Theresa Excellence Award – 1998.
  3. Became Director in Lions Club for 1997 – 98.
1999
  1. Attended the Seminar organized by Renshi Welch in Washington DC, Maryland University.
  2. Participated as a referee in the 1st Traditional Okinawa Karate & Kobudo World Tournament and Attended the Seminars and took training in Hombu Dojo.
  3. Became First VP in Lionism for 1999 – 2000.
2000 - 01 President - Lions club of Chennai Town (324 – A1) and received the award of Outstanding President Award for the same year.
2001
  1. Participated as a referee in the 2nd Okinawan Karate & Kobudo(Weaponary) World Tournament and attended the seminars under reputed World Grand Masters held at Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
  2. District Chairman for Karate, Yoga and Meditation in Lionism.
2001 - 02
  1. Continued as District Chairman(Martial Arts)–LionsClub of International 324– A1.
  2. Took part in the International tournament as the referee organized by American Karate Association, Harrisburg,USA.And awarded 6th dan by the same above said Association.
  3. Honoured as Karate PithaMahar by Sports Authority of India.
2002 - 03
  1. Had an great opportunity to lead our Indian Karate team to take part in World Karate Confederation World tournament held at St.Peter’s Burg, Russia as Chief coach.
  2. Participated in 2003 Karate & Kobudo world Tournament as Referee and acquired his 6th Dan and Shihan Title(Okinawan Director) from the hand of the living legend grand master Hanshi Shugoro Nakazato.
  3. Continued as District Chairman(Martial Arts)–LionsClub of International 324– A5
Year 2006 A. Had been inivited as delegate to the Youth Karate Festival Tournament conducted at Okinawa Japan from March 25th to 28th.
B. Participated as a Referee in the International Karate Torunment organised by Shotokan Karate Confederation from April 13th to 16th at Las Vegas USA.
Year 2007 Got the Diploma in Yogasanam Education with the title of Master of Yoga from Swani Suvanand Yogosanam Ratna Centre, Madurai.
Year 2009 1. Visited to Okinawa / Japan as a Referee for Karate & Kobudo eventin world Tournament.
2. Took Advance training under Hanshi Shugoro Nakazato.
3. Acquired 7th Dan Kyoshi title from the Hands of Hanshi Giyu Gibo at his Dojo (Okinawa / Japan)

Current Portfolio in Karate Field President - All India Shorin Ryu Shorin Kan Karate & Kobudo Association.
Technical Chariman - Sports Karate Federation of India (SKFI) which is affiliated to School Games Federation of India (SGFI) and recognized by Sports Ministry, Government of India.
Technical Director - Tamilnadu Sports Karate Association.
Constinued as District Chairman (Martial Arts) - Lions Club of International 324 - A5.
